Here they are ladies and gents, 6 new commanders, all monstrously big with insane abilities, and of course high casting costs to go along with them. So after going back to the Elder Dragons of yore and how powerful they were, you can only imagine what we are getting out of Elder Dinosaurs. The last time we saw this supertype we were amid the planes of Tarkir with subservient humans and Dragons that ruled over them, and they would have gotten away with it if it wasn’t for a darned planeswalker and his stupid ghost dragon friend! All jokes aside Elder, has been a supertype to describe some of magic’s most feared dragons yet it has always been reserved to dragons. The first topic of conversation when discussing the dinos of ROI is of course the reintroduction of an old type, as well as a new type, Elder. Since this is Commander’s Arsenal, you kno we are going to be answering the important questions about RIX: How they fit into EDH? What existing decks do they belong in? Are there any decks worth building with them? I’ll answer all that and more! Embrace your inner Chris Pratt, and prepare to Cast Through Time the dinosaurs of our distant past to smash the face of all your opponents at your table.

Welcome to Ixalan, the first home to REAL dinosaurs that give you that tingling sensation, no not the crabs you contracted, the big-stompy tingling sensation. I wasn’t impressed all to much with the enrage mechanic, and playing them in EDH just didn’t feel worth it they didn’t give you that tingly Timmy feeling that you want to get when you are playing DINOSAURS! I mean you didn’t hear the Jurassic Park music in your head as you played your Deathgorge Scavenger, but now… If you are like me you were a bit disappointed in the dinos that came from Ixalan. With Rivals Of Ixalan finally in the hands of the players we’ve seen some insane new cards, specifically some insane dinosaurs.
